Festival of Voices 2009

The 2009 Festival of Voices is here! From the 9th July until 12th July 2009 the Festival welcomes singers, guest artists and audiences from across the world to Hobart, home of Australia’s only annual festival of choirs.

The Festival of Voices was established in 2005. It is Australia’s only annual Festival of choirs and Tasmania’s premier winter arts event. In 2008 more then 30 choirs travelled from across Australia to take part in the Festival. Participants attended concerts, performances and workshops across the city and more than two thousand people gathered under the night sky for the Festival Bonfire and Big Sing. In 2009 the Festival has attracted even greater numbers of choirs and visitors and a line-up of national and international guest artists to thrill audiences and workshop participants alike.

The Festival of Voices is a place for Singing, Performing and Learning. The Festival is inclusive, collaborative and non-competitive with opportunities for everyone.
